Position Description:

JOB SUMMARY:Manages General Accounting function of professional and non-exempt accounting personnel. Oversees timely and accurate completion of ledger accounts and financial statements in accordance with approved accounting practices to ensure accurate financial and operating reports.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Typically directs supervisory level personnel* Manages professional level accounting operations and oversees those who estimate expenditures expected and submits to management.* Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, balances, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.* Certifies accuracy of operating and financial reports.* Develops, installs, and maintains budgeting systems which provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities, such as advertising and marketing, production and labor, maintenance, or project activities.* Advises upper management regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and capital.* Interprets accounts and records to upper management.* Oversee AP and AR* Assures monthly close reports are accurate and timelySCOPE: * Number of Reports:* Direct - 6 to 10* Indirect – 0MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE: * Manage staff so accounts are accurate and timely* Reports are completeEDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance* CPA preferredJOB RELATED EXPERIENCE:* 7 - 10 years accounting experience with 3-5 years supervisory experienceDEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* Working knowledge of concepts, systems, laws, regulations, etc. minimally required to perform the job competently.* Ability to work under pressure, meet multiple deadlines, customer focused, etc.* Technical/mechanical skills required such as PC skills, Excel etc.WORKING CONDITIONS:* Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time* Office environment
