Description:Eaton Corporation located in Fayetteville, NC has an opening for Master Technician--IT.The primary responsibilities of the Master Technician--IT includes:-Maintaining and repairing plant network, including servers, switches, and other network devices through cooperation with, and often under the direction of, the Group and Corporate Operations & Infrastructure teams.-Maintaining, updating, and testing the local Disaster Recovery Plan.-Partnering with the Asset Management System and ensuring those ICC assets are assigned appropriately. Technician should be a knowledgeable user of the Asset Management System at the requester level.-Acting as a contributor to enterprise and local computing standards while ensuring adherence to those standards. Maintaining focus on support of approved network PC hardware/software management of assets, conformance with standards, and coordination of services. Supporting hardware and software applications that are not defined or established when a business need has clearly been defined. -Ensuring that IT directives are followed, especially in regards to proper software licensing and user privacy. Assisting the user community with regards to the appropriate use of company owned computer assets.-Assuming a leading role in PC rollouts, integrations, relocations, and upgrades for both the local and remote sites.-Developing, improving, and documenting processes in conjunction with other division Infrastructure Analysts and HQ support teams.-In the course of day-to-day troubleshooting, the analyst will discover ways to resolve problems or perform a process in a more streamlined manner. Sharing implicit knowledge with the team and beyond. Using Enterprise Support's Knowledge Base, the analyst must be able to correctly describe a problem or process and express, in written format, the appropriate steps to resolving the problem or process. This must be done in such a manner that is easily understood at all levels of computer expertise but with an emphasis on explaining the steps to a novice computer user.-Providing assistance to the user community to ensure that they understand how their systems operate within the infrastructure of the WAN and telecommunication systems. Ensuring that the contacts made with the user base promote and foster an educated user community.
