Part Time Accountant

Under general direction, prepares all aspects of general accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Client Invoicing, Financial Statements and Employee Records/Payroll, providing the financial information necessary for timely management decisions.-Assigns appropriate General Ledger account numbers to invoices and ensures payments are made on a timely basis.-On a quarterly basis, generates client invoices based on asset valuations provided by portfolio administrators.-Maintains accounts receivables by depositing client checks, updating paid clients' accounts and providing monthly accounts receivable status reports to portfolio managers and administrators.-Resolves billing discrepancies by working with the appropriate internal decision-makers.-Prepares accurate monthly balance sheet and income statements, reviewing -Maintain updated employee personnel files including payroll, employee benefits and attendance information and ensures compliance with federal reporting requirements.-Oversees miscellaneous accounting such as petty cash fund, and transferring funds between checking and money market funds to maximize use of cash.-Acts as liaison with landlord and outside repair contractors to maintain efficiently operating office machines.-Associate's Degree in Accounting, additional education in Accounting, Business or related field is desirable.-3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in general accounting, with familiarity of investment terminology a plus.
