Treasury Services Analyst

Overview:  Reporting to the Director of Treasury Services, the Treasury Services Analyst oversees completed transactions for various trust accounts, bank accounts, and broker statements, keeps accounts in balance with the Marquette financial system and trust software programs, and processes security gifts donated to Marquette. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  Work closely with brokers to monitor the integrity and confidentiality of information regarding gifts, donors and operating cash investments for the University. Establish the value of security gifts and direct the processing of those gifts. Maintain and update treasury software including Charlotte, Automated Standard Application for Payments, and various banking programs. Reconcile trust records with Oracle, the Marquette financial system. Establish new trust accounts, bank accounts, and investment accounts. Process checks and invoices, make travel and meeting arrangements, draft letters and memos, proofread, file, mail, supervise student employees, and perform other daily tasks as they occur. Communicate professionally with staff, administrators, brokers, vendors, and donors. Download bank and broker balances and utilize the information for journal entries. Assist in the maintenance of the department's web page. Assess and assist in the selection of software programs for the functions of the Treasury Office. Interpret accounting reports, disseminate the data and produce specialized balance reports. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Requires bachelor's degree from an accredited college (finance, accounting or business major preferred). Must possess strong communication and analytical skills. 1-3 years experience in finance back office operation, bookkeeping and reconciling financial statements. Must understand trust account definitions and the payment systems. Must be knowledgeable in both banking and investment back office operations. Requires the ability to prepare spreadsheets, power point presentations, memos and letters. Requires the ability to prioritize tasks and ensure that the department's needs are met within the necessary time frames and deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality of financial disclosures; and abililty to employ good interpersonal skills and ethical decision making.
