Inventory Control/Purchasing Associate

 

 

Serta Mattress Company, a market leader committed to providing exceptional quality products & services, seeks an organized and detail oriented Inventory Control/Purchasing Associate for our Serta-Beloit facility.

 

Our JIT production requires this position to analyze production schedules while coordinating with management on forecasts to determine and maintain proper order quantities of components/materials to ensure timely deliveries.  Ensures control of inventory turn levels and costs including inbound freight & handling; places orders with vendors and/or sources materials from sister plants and follows up as needed.  Identifies and addresses material supply issues, expedites shipping and deliveries, monitors usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor back orders advising Plant Manager of any problems or concerns.  Maintains perpetual records on materials, conducts daily inventory analysis and physical cycle counts with product ordering for optimal use; and takes a lead role with audits and physical inventories as needed.  Maintains records and files, ensures complete and accurate receiving reconciliation and reporting; analyzes and monitors results data and prepares various reports. 

 

Position requires:  strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning skills and quantitative skills; HS grad level with at least 3+ years of progressively responsible inventory control/buyer experience in a manufacturing environment; and experience using mainframe based systems along with intermediate spreadsheet skill level and familiarity of word processing software.  College degree a plus!
