Position Description:This position is responsible for the selling and servicing of product and staff development. The position requires making sales calls to elementary, middle schools and high schools, district offices and state department personnel in an assigned geographic territory as well as working conferences in said territory. 1. Make daily sales calls to schools and school district offices in the assigned territory. 2. Develop and foster professional relationships with key customers in assigned territory. 3. Effectively plan and execute a strategic territorial sales plan. 4. Effectively track and quantify sales opportunities and prospects and prepare a monthly forecast of all large orders. 5. Target key accounts based on revenue potential, develop sales campaigns and execute effective follow up strategies. 6. Provide customer on-site support as needed. 7. When appropriate, conduct formal sales presentations. 8. When appropriate, lead and conduct follow-up in-service training. 9. Exhibit products/materials at all appropriate educational conferences. 10. Learn and demonstrate a complete understanding of all major products. 11. Complete a written monthly report summarizing territory activity and issues. 12. Manage an assigned expense budget. 13. Complete expense reports on a weekly basis. Qualifications:A minimum of a BA/BS in education or a related field is required. Elementary teaching experience with an emphasis in reading is desirable along with demonstrated educational sales experience.
