Controller/Sole Charge Accountant

Description of Job DutiesA growing renewable energy construction company needs individual to oversee on-going construction project cost accounting, budgeting and entire month-end close process for the company and its subsidiaries.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

§         Completing monthly financial statements and management reports

§         Performing general ledger accounting and job cost accounting

§         Preparing monthly work papers and support schedules

§         Assuring timely billing of construction in process

§         Monitoring of accounts receivable for construction jobs

§         Reviewing and processing accounts payable

§         Completing job cost analysis as required, including reviewing the appropriateness of estimates to complete

§         Monitoring and reviewing sub-contractor and material payments

§         Reviewing operational and construction budgets

§         Ensuring overall compliance with accounting policies and procedures

§         Providing interface between construction and the accounting department

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

·         5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.

·         Must have advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.

·         Full-cycle accounting experience in a hands-on environment.

·         Strong organizational and analytical skills.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



Position Requirements Location: Bakersfield, CA Periodic travel will be necessary Compensation: commensurate with experience ($60,000+)
