The Facilities Technician will perform maintenance, renovations, and general repairs on commercial and residential buildings. The position entails responding to work orders regarding electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical services as needed.

 

Responsibilities:
• Perform maintenance, renovations and general repairs for a commercial and residential building
• Respond to job work orders in regards to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting or mechanical services as needed
• Overall responsibility for the maintenance and repair of building system infrastructure, including upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment and electrical systems
• Provides basic maintenance and repair of plumbing systems as directed, to include repair of leaking fixtures, unclogging drains
• Troubleshoots, maintains, and performs basic repair of minor building electrical problems, such as changing lamps, ballasts, fixtures, switches, photo cells, outlets and conduit bending.
• Ability to add circuits from electrical panels

 

Qualifications:
• Outstanding people and communication skills
• Minimum of 5+ years experience performing repairs and maintenance for commercial buildings
• Strong ability to use general construction tools
• Understanding of blueprints preferred
• Broad knowledge of practices and techniques of general construction, repair, and maintenance in a commercial and residential environment (i.e. has an understanding of plumbing knowledge for new tenant improvements including copper piping and soldering).
• HVAC and mechanical equipment knowledge preferred (i.e. sourcing heat pumps, fans, pneumatic controls, d.d.c. controls, and boilers)
• Fire-Life Safety Knowledge and equipment experience preferred
• Alarm Annunciator Panel knowledge
• Wet System Fire Sprinkler knowledge and understanding preferred
• Expertise in at least two construction trades
• Knowledge of Doors/Hardware (ie. locksets, door closures, frames)
