Job Description

 

Finance Manager reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for general accounting (A/R, AP, Payroll and HR administration), internal controls (including inventory control), compliance, and financial reporting.

 

General Accounting/HR Administration

Responsible for A/R, A/P, Payroll and HR administration operations. Supervises staff of two. Responsible for accurate and timely processing of daily business transactions and reporting in these areas. Oversight of credit application review/approval, under the direction of the Credit Manager (direct report).

 

Internal Controls

Responsible for internal controls on all assets and liabilities including cash/treasury management, fixed assets/depreciation, inventory (reconciliation of book to perpetual, physical inventory, reporting, etc.). Responsible for monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

 

Compliance

Responsible for compliance with Federal and State reporting requirements, including sales/use taxes, franchise taxes, payroll taxes, property taxes, business and vehicle registrations, 401(K) compliance testing, Forms 5500, etc. Responsible for accurate and timely reporting and filings in these areas. Responsible for supporting annual CPA financial review, CPA completion of Federal and State income tax returns.

 

Financial Reporting

Responsible for the financial close process. Responsible for financial reporting including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement preparation. Responsible for management reporting, including reporting of manufacturing variances in Direct Materials, Direct Labor and Factory Overhead. Responsible for publishing the monthly Finance Manager’s letter to management and ownership.

 

Education/Skills/Experience RequiredMinimum Bachelor’s Degree required, with focus in Accounting or FinanceWorking knowledge of GAAPMinimum 5 years of accounting/financial reporting experience required (with specific experience in A/R, A/P, Payroll and HR administration), preferably in a manufacturing environmentSupervisory experience requiredWorking knowledge of enterprise information systems, including ERP, payroll/HR and financial reporting systemsExpert PC skills required, including working knowledge of Windows-based applications including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
