Finance Supervisor - Channel Sales & Margin
Follow your aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities, competitive salaries, great benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, a company paid pension plan and profit sharing, all with a company providing the growth and strength to build your future.Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:Provide financial support and counsel to the US DGM Sales Directors of each channel via the following specific activities: financial planning and analysis; financial reporting and analysis; general accounting and internal control. Provide business analytics for customer specific and managed care contracts prior to signing in order to ensure sound investment decisions are made.Major Responsibilities:Serve as the primary finance contact for the Retail, Mail/DME, Managed Care and Post Acute Care sales channel directors. Ensure all Plan, Update and LBE forecasts are reasonable, challenging and achievable at a customer level.Interface with Commercial Management and Contract Marketing to evaluate and understand key customer & managed care pricing contracts. Provide analytics/metrics to support pricing managers in establishing floor pricing and guidelines for multi-product offering discounts. Develop flexible, comprehensive tools to support commercial program proposals focused on ROI and fully burdened margin profitability. Utilize this knowledge to assess the appropriateness of the chargeback & rebate balance sheet reserves.Responsible for daily sales reporting to both ADC senior management and Corporate HQ, including workday 8 and workday 15 projections. Facilitate weekly sales calls with channel directors and key account managers to ensure commercial management, logistics and finance can forecast LBE's accurately and avoid surprises.Prepare Plan, Update, and LBE forecasting as well as monthly balance sheet reconciliations for numerous sales reserves including Managed Care rebates, Customer chargebacks, Retail Medicare AOB, and wholesaler inventory management agreements.Ensure order management and financial systems reconcile on a daily basis. Understand the transaction mapping between the various systems and serve as the resident expert for any proposed system enhancements or alterations.Key participant during both internal and external audits. Provide auditors with key process walk throughs and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations that illustrate a sound understanding of the business and compliance with Abbott Corporate/Divisional policies and procedures as well as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines.Together with senior staff, coordinate the preparation of management presentations and related backup/analysis. The presentation, backup, and analysis must be comprehensive and include sound justification on the achievability of forecasts. The integrity and validity of financial information is critical to the organization in making timely and informed business decisions.Develop and maintain a financial organization capable of meeting Division and Corporate requirements. Assume direct responsibility for results and empower others while maintaining high performance standards.Improve the financial understanding of the key non-financial commercial management & staff.QualificationsBasic4+ years of finance experience (FP&A, Cost/General Accounting and Financial Reporting). Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems. Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting. Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications: BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. MBA and/or CPA/CMA is a plus,Abbott welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce.
