Line Manager
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies, seeks a Line Manager with strong strategic thinking skills and solid operational management experience to oversee, within a specific business segment, current and future programs that support Vanguard's strategic business objectives.
Working closely with supervisors and other management team members, you'll develop and implement short- and long-range goals for the department, including staffing and operational plans, and contingency and disaster-recovery planning. You'll also develop periodic business plans and budgets. You'll evaluate workflow efficiencies and manage changes to ensure the highest level of quality and timely service. You'll resolve staffing situations daily and maximize the benefits of excess staffing periods. Using available data, you'll analyze statistics to prepare management reports, monitor problems and measure success. You'll also participate in Unit-level Quality and six-sigma based projects.
You'll analyze and resolve the most complex client issues, implement systematic solutions and controls, and review internal partner and client feedback.
You'll ensure that new industry and Vanguard developments requiring training are communicated effectively in an accurate, timely way.
As a team manager, you'll perform all HR-related functions, including hiring, guiding and training, setting standards, and evaluating performance.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of related business experience, including significant management/supervisory experience.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work quickly and independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines.
- Demonstrated project-management skills.
- Demonstrated client-relationship management skills.
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- Only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents will be considered for this position.
