Your Ingenuity is welcome!Responsibility Level:This position is responsible for delivering system solutions for the Power Solutions division of Johnson Controls. This position requires the ability to understand business processes and the development skills to develop application systems. Additional responsibilities include: Support existing applications, train end-users on new functionality, and provide written documentation. The position requires a strong self-starter who is able to manage multiple competing priorities on a daily basis. Strong communication and administrative skills are a must.
Typical Duties:
o Prepare project management deliverables including Statements of work, Status reports, Budgets, and Staffing plans for moderate to highly complex projects. Ensure adherence to Company standards and methodologies;
o Document, Analyze and provide solutions to issues that surface;
o Develop business cases for doing development work;
o Conduct meetings and present status;
o Ensure effective communication through written and verbal methods.
Analysis Responsibilities:
o Discuss needs with customers in a non-technical language;
o Analyze customer requests, understand need, and document in Functional Specification;
o Prepare documentation using MS-Word, MS-Excel, and flowcharting tools;
o Translate user requirements into System Design Specifications;
o Develop estimates and budgets for system development;
o Develop programs to comply with system requirements;
o Oversee a team of developers;
o Validate programming results and review with users for acceptance;
o Prepare other documentation as required by JCI's methodology;
o Work with off-shore development team to deliver applications;
o Where appropriate, coach and develop fellow colleagues;
o Communicate effectively in both written and oral format;
o Ensure customer acceptance by testing validation, and training users in changes to business processes.
Technology Focus (Preferred experience in one of the following):
o QAD Mfg/Pro ERP Systems in Manufacturing and/or Distribution environments.
o Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
o Electronic Data Interface (EDI), B2B technologies
o Data Warehouse Systems
o Siebel CRM Experience - Siebel Functionality, Siebel Tools, Siebel EIM, Siebel Scripting
o Oracle Financials
o Human Resources & Payroll Systems
Other Requirements:
o Night time and weekend support rotation. Generally, 1 week rotation every 10 weeks;
o Occasional overnight travel and non-traditional work hours;
o Additional responsibilities as required;
o Spanish speaking a plus.
Education/Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, or comparable field;
o Minimum of 5 years work experience in IT;
o 3-5 years of experience in similar position.
