Duties and Responsibilities: The Operations Supervisor Electrical Construction in the Substation Construction & Maintenance Area is responsible for planning, supervising and directing substation electrical construction resources to meet the needs of our customers. The supervisor represents company management in contacts with customers, contractors, and other work providers (American Transmission Company, Nuclear Management Company, fossil operations, information technology, customer service, facilities, etc.). The successful candidate must be capable of managing multiple and shifting priorities to meet both internal and external commitments. You will be responsible for supervising approximately 15 represented substation electricians and electrician contractors performing substation construction and maintenance. You will plan, estimate, direct, monitor, and communicate the activities of the group with other field personnel. You will conduct safety meetings, develop procedures and training, and perform site audits. Participation in a standby role for emergent work is required on a periodic basis. The successful applicant will coordinate and organize available manpower, tools, equipment and materials to complete work in order to meet the needs of our customers.
Education and Experience Requirements: The successful candidate shall have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the electric utility construction or maintenance and a solid understanding of substation equipment. Alternatively, experience with power generation, transmission, or distribution projects with familiarity with substations and switchyards will be considered. Formal education in electrical engineering or electric is a bonus.
