Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller   Purpose of Position: Manage, coordinate, and oversee the work of the Monster Balance Sheet Accounting Team. By directing the activities of the accounting staff, the Assistant Controller must manage the monthly close process, ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all financial information, as well as, progressing toward the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the business.   Essential Functions: This position will include several responsibilities, including, but not limited to the following:   Key responsibilities as it relates to the general ledger include Cash, A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, Rent Allocation, Intercompany, Bad-debt, Reserves, all other prepaid, M&I, Re-org, intangibles and equity. Manage the close process. Oversees and supervises the Balance Sheet Accounting staff, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to peak productivity and performance. Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in the accomplishment of established goals. Manages multiple projects in an effective and efficient manner. Will be a key participant in the quarterly and annual audit, as well as, the annual tax package and SEC schedules. Must coordinate the flow of information between the accounting staff and other business partners across the divisions. Additional projects/job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications:   BS in Accounting/Finance required; must have either a CPA or MBA 7-10 years Accounting / Finance experience in a leadership role Experience supervising and training a professional staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments Strong aptitude for financial systems (Oracle a plus) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required Additional Qualifications: This position requires exceptional problem solving ability You will be interacting with all levels throughout the organization so written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills will be critical to the success of this position.
